RE: Direct TV From the house?

i just talked with direct tv, the have what they call a "temporary kit" that comes with a dish, tri-pod and some cable, delivered in 2-5 business days for $85. i told the guy i could find it for a lot cheaper and he immediately gave me a $50 dolar credit to my account. and it doesn't require DNS.
i'll post what i think of it when it comes in.

Direct TV From the house?

Hey folks been gone for a while....but now i'm back!
I see lots of Direct TV set ups in campgrounds and want to do this myself, been a direct tv guy for a few years and love it! do i have to get the DNS service or can i just take one of my existing boxes along with a dish set up with me, align it and start watching TV?
Any help is appreciated.

RE: getting frustrated!

With a rack that holds the tote directly above the bumper, you have much less weight, less bouncing, and no leverage. I made one that works very well. Here's a link to my mods, where you can see pictures.
i like your tank rack. do you think you could send me some better pics or some plans that you used to do up your rack, this is exactly what i think i need.

getting frustrated!

need a little help,
do you think a carry all (50" model) and an empty blue tank would be too much for a bolt on 2" bumper receiver? i already have the spare tire carrier back there, but i wouldn't think te new stuff would be more than 100 lbs.
also i am in dire need of a trailer tongue mounted bike rack. not one of those inline TV receiver hitc, types, but one that mounts to the trailer's tongue itself.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

12v Lighting Questions

hello every one!
Has anyone found a way or a product that replaces the regular 12v light bulbs with something that isn't a bright and harsh?
i'm looking for something like a dimmer (less bright) bulb or something like that. my wifes answer is to take extra lamps with softer bulbs, but i can't stand not using what is already in place. i found a site with a dimmer switch, but it's not really plug and play.
Any suggestions?

RE: Rockwood Roo 26RS/Dodge Durango

i have the 4.7 AWD model with a 26RS and the equilizer set up. it tows fine! i do have a little more bounce, but it is heavier than my 24' trailer we replaced. this is also towing with 5 folks and a dog, fully loaded. when the current tires are in need of replacement, i will go with a "C" rated tire and heavier shocks.

RE: Totaled TT. Insurance questions - UPDATED

i agree with the last 2 folks, as well. you can probably even get the trailer you want from a local dealer, at close to an RVDirect or RVWholesaler price....
